The Disc Golf Club of Albany (DGCA) was founded in 2003 with five members. The DGCA is a volunteer organization, run for the players by the players. We have several club-sponsored projects around the valley. All the club-sponsored project must be aligned with the club goals.
Club goals:

Disc Golf Club of Albany project list:
- Running the Simpson Summer Sling tournament.
- Continue installation and maintenance of Simpson DGC
- Planning the redesign of the Timber Linn course
- Work with the City of Albany and Linn County to produce disc golf tournaments, install new courses, and schedule course maintenance.
- Planning and running a charity tournament (this year we are running the Katrina Relief tournament)
- Helping with the design and installation on the Waterloo DGC
- Working with the Eugene Disc Golf Club and Tom Embree to facilitate the two of the Oregon Liquid Environment (OLE) tournaments
- Working with Team Oregon and the Oregon Series to produce both the Oregon Series and the Beaver State Fling.
- Continue fund raising efforts, selling memberships, selling club merchandise, filling out and submitting grant proposals
The club is in the process of becoming a not-for-profit corporation. We do have operation expenses associated with the club, so we do engage in fund raising efforts. At this time the fund raising efforts take the form of selling annual club memberships, selling discs and disc golf related products, DGCA Bag Tag Challenge tags, and running disc golf tournaments.
Becoming a DGCA club member is easy and comes with a host of member benefits. An annual members ship costs $10.00. Once you become a Member you are granted the following member benefits:
- You will receive a DGCA Bag Tag challenge tag , only members have access to the first 20 issued tags (anyone who has a DGCA tag can challenge any other tag)
- You receive a club I.D. card, with your club member number
- Every time you purchase a disc form the club you receive one credit. Each credit has a club value of one $1 that can be used toward DGCA products. Credits are recorded and maintained by the club disc seller. Records of member credits will be kept as long as the member is current. If the member allows her/his membership to laps all club benefits and credits are lost.
- Guaranteed spot in all clubs run activates
- You get to request your first round group in all DGCA run tournaments
- Get to attend all club meetings (club meetings are open to the public) and have a vote
